MR Transcription Provider Take Note Acquired

London-based Take Note, which offers transcription, captioning and note taking services for the market research sector, has been acquired by AI-based transcription and captioning solutions provider Verbit. Terms were not disclosed.

Take Note taps some 600 transcribers who work with UK and international clients, with guaranteed turnaround times every day of the week. The company offers a range of transcription types including verbatim and 'intelligent verbatim', which it says is ideal for research projects with respondents' answers delivered word for word, but questions and off-topic conversation summarised. In addition, Take Note can remove respondents' personally identifying information, for GDPR compliance, and it offers US English spelling services.

The acquisition increases Verbit's presence in Europe, and marks its entrance into the MR sector. Take Note CEO David Abbott (pictured) comments: 'We're thrilled to join forces with Verbit and add our market research transcription and live note taking solutions to its broad portfolio for captioning and transcription. We're looking forward to bringing our knowledge and specialized team of transcribers into the Verbit fold.
