Diligent Gets Patent for Organizational Health Analysis

Business governance, risk and compliance specialist Diligent has secured a US patent for a method dubbed 'organizational health analysis', which provides directors and execs with insights about their companies, industries and peers from news, social media and other online media sources.

US Patent and Trademark Office of patent No. 11,263,523 has been awarded for Diligent's technology, whose proprietary algorithm analyzes articles from more than 70,000 news sources to assess their sentiment - good, bad or neutral - in 25 different categories such as regulations or operations. These values are then aggregated into a corporate health score, which provides a media snapshot that indicates strengths and exposure points, telling Boards and execs where they need to focus their efforts.

The non-provisional patent was filed in January 2018, and the first author on it is Andrew Duchon (pictured), Senior Director of Data Science at Diligent, who comments: 'Diligent's organizational health analysis technology provides unique analysis and forecasting that drives everything from ESG (environmental, social and governance) decision-making to sales efforts and business development.
