GovExec Buys Procurement Data Firm CJIS GROUP

In the US, information services company GovExec has acquired RFP and procurement data provider CJIS GROUP, for an undisclosed sum.

David HeinemanCJIS GROUP delivers information on the IT needs, project plans and agency profiles of state and local government in the US. The firm gathers information about projects from early planning stages to RFP (Request For Proposal), to contract award. A service called Premier provides pre-RFP, RFP and awarded IT project reports, federal grant funding programs including award information, contact directories and links, vendor profiles, and relevant event tracking.

Following the takeover, GovExec will incorporate CJIS' procurement data into its Atlas MarketEdge platform, which delivers first party behavior and buyer intent data. The intelligence in GovExec's state and local portfolio is powered by more than three million first-party data points each month, as well as active opportunities in the planning stage and in procurement.

CJIS Chief Executive David Heineman (pictured) comments: 'We have been watching the incredible growth at GovExec and The Atlas and knew that our data and intelligence product would be a perfect complement to their solutions. As we began discussions on how best to work together, it became clear that becoming part of the company made the most sense'.
