WPP Data Agency Essence Names Two SVPs

WPP-owned data and measurement-driven agency Essence has promoted Barbara Blanzat Henao to the role of Senior Vice President, Analytics, EMEA, while Kate Mann has been promoted to SVP Agency Solutions and Operations, EMEA.

Barbara Blanzat Henao and Kate MannPart of WPP's media investment company GroupM, Essence combines data science, media, and customer experience skills to help clients build connections between brands and consumers. Earlier this year, WPP merged Essence and its media network MediaCom, to combine the digital and data-driven DNA of Essence with MediaCom's multichannel, audience planning and strategic media expertise.

Blanzat Henao joined in 2018 as Senior Director, Client Analytics and most recently served as VP of Analytics. Prior to this she worked for ad targeting and retargeting specialist Criteo as Senior Analytics Manager, EMEA & APAC; having previously been Business Operations Director at online ad technology company; and a Business Analyst at Google. Mann joined eight years ago and most recently served as VP Client Solutions, EMEA. Earlier she worked for telco Weve as Head of Advertising Services; O2 Media as Head of Operations; and Microsoft as Windows Live and MSN Product Strategist.

In her new role, Blanzat Henao will be responsible for growing Essence's Analytics team and developing measurement and analytics initiatives for the business and its clients; and Mann will be responsible for scaling client best practice and overseeing business operations, as well as Essence's Project Management function. Both report to Ryan Storrar, CEO for Essence EMEA, who comments: 'Barbara and Kate have been integral for growing Essence's renowned analytics and client operations divisions over recent years, so these promotions are hugely deserved and are recognition of their dedication to our clients and business'.
