Physical Space Analyst Density Acquires Prevision.io

Density, which helps companies measure, analyze and optimize physical office space, has acquired Paris, France-based data science company Prevision.io. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Prevision.io provides tools for data scientist to build, deploy, monitor and manage predictive models. Its fully automated machine learning platform is designed to help increase productivity in data science projects, reduce time to market to deliver predictive models and put them into production, and deliver data to understand the decisions of those models.

The firm joins Density, which provides software and sensors to help companies understand how people use office space and adapt their spaces accordingly. Density says the acquisition is part of a larger global expansion, starting in Europe, where it has appointed J C Groon (pictured) as MD International, to lead international expansion, with initial operations in Ireland and the UK. Groon was most recently a Global Client leader at LinkedIn, and previously held roles at Cisco, NAVTEQ (now HERE Technologies), and Accenture.

In their new home the Prevision.io team will contribute their data science expertise to Density's onboarding experience and its analytics platform. Andrew Farah, CEO and co-founder of Density, comments: 'The multinational companies we work with need insights into all their offices, not just those in the US, so having a team based in EMEA is a natural next step. In order to make good on our mission - to measure and improve humanity's footprint on the world - we'll need a truly global presence, and both the Prevision team and J C will be instrumental to our future growth'.
