Instacart Buys Pricing and Promotions Tester Eversight

California-based grocery technology company Instacart has acquired Eversight, an AI-powered platform for CPG brands and retailers, which among other features allows clients to continuously test customized pricing and promotions directly with customers, at scale.

Fidji Simo and David MoranInstacart partners with more than 900 national, regional, and local retail brands to facilitate online shopping, delivery and pickup services from more than 75,000 stores across more than 13,000 cities in North America on the Instacart Marketplace. Eversight was established in 2013 and provides specialist promotions and pricing tech for the grocery industry to CPG brands and retailers. The testing process automates processes that have traditionally been highly manual and time-consuming, surfacing real-time, custom insights into the promotions that best resonate with customers and impact their buying decisions. Retail partners can use their physical and digital storefronts to run ongoing individualized micro price point experiments at scale.

Instacart says bringing this together with its own scale, partnerships and machine learning technology provides an opportunity to transform pricing strategies and promotions for its partners, connecting the dots between online and off-line behavior to improve sales, growth and customer experience, 'no matter how they choose to shop'.

Fidji Simo (pictured above), CEO of Instacart, comments: 'By combining Eversight's leading pricing and promotions capabilities with Instacart's world-class teams and technology, we're positioned to deliver even more value to our brand and retail partners, while also creating more opportunities for customers to maximize their savings both in-store and online'. David Moran (below), co-founder and Chairman of Eversight, says joining Instacart can scale his firm's technology 'across online and off-line pricing to help make buying groceries more affordable for everyone while also driving more value for CPGs and retailers'.

Eversight's CPG offerings will be part of the Instacart Ads product and technology suite, available through its Carrot Insights data dashboard, which tracks key performance and operational metrics for retailers.
