Seed Funds for Spatial Analytics Platform Cognitive3D

In Canada, spatial analytics platform Cognitive3D has raised $2.5m in a seed funding round, and says it will double headcount during the next eighteen months.

Tony BevilacquaCognitive3D uses virtual, augmented and mixed reality devices to record, measure, aggregate and analyze how users behave in 3D environments. The firm's technology offers an approach to consumer research, designed to help brands 'develop better products, understand spaces in new ways, and carry out training with clearer results'.

New funding was led by Konvoy, with participation from Space Capital and Boost VC, and will be used to double Cognitive3D's current team of nine. Commenting on the news, Cogintive3D founder and CEO Tony Bevilacqua (pictured) said: 'After a six-year journey in R&D for the spatial analytics category, I am super excited to announce our series seed. We are so lucky to have such incredible investors that are committed to our mission in our corner'.
