Synovate Unites UK Operations

Synovate is combining its four UK research companies into one organisation, led by a team drawn from the existing senior management and with Michelle Norman as MD. The four include the current London and Kent divisions, TRBI and the UK operations of interactive voice response specialist ViewsCast.

The London and Kent divisions include the former Pegram Walters and Sample Surveys operations. The new business will encompass all of Synovate's research activities in the UK, with the exception of Synovate Healthcare, which is part of a separate global structure.

Norman has worked with Synovate for over 2 years and was MD of Sample Surveys when it was acquired. Her previous career includes roles at the Automobile Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Working with her, Neil Swan will be responsible for Innovation and Strategic Development, Steve Hales will head up the Research and Project Teams, and Laurence Curtis will take charge of Resource Strategy and Operational Support.

Norman says the move will enable Synovate to 'build stronger teams and create innovative ways to meet the needs of our clients, while generating even more opportunities for our staff'.

The UK accounts for around 1 in 7 of Synovate's 3,300 staff in 46 countries worldwide. UK turnover is c.£47million (placing it 6th in the league table) and key sectors are brand and advertising, financial, retail, telecommunications, and automotive via s special international division, Motoresearch.
