Senior Changes for Decision Intelligence Firm Gurobi

Decision intelligence tech firm Gurobi Optimization has announced that its co-founder and CEO Dr. Edward Rothberg will move to the role of Chairman, alongside that of Chief Scientist; while current COO Duke Perrucci takes over as CEO.

Duke PerrucciGurobi's software helps clients make rapid decisions around areas including workforce scheduling, portfolio management, marketing optimization and supply chain design. Based in Beaverton, Oregon, the firm was founded in 2008 and operates across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Rothberg began as COO and was appointed CEO in 2015, achieving 20-40% annual revenue growth and leading its expansion across ten countries. He will now focus on helping guide company strategy at the board level and providing product direction.

Perrucci (pictured) joined the company in 2018 as Chief Revenue Officer, after more than twenty years in sales, marketing and analytics roles, and has helped build and lead its sales and marketing teams, winning promotion to COO in 2021. He worked earlier at Cambridge Analytica, FocusVision and Unilever; and spent nine years at Information Resources, Inc., working across the entire PepsiCo enterprise.

Rothberg says of the decision: 'I felt the time is right to evolve my role and make this change. And Duke has proven he's the right person to fill this role. He and I share a common vision for Gurobi. I'm confident he will do a great job and the company will continue on an upward trajectory'. Perrucci adds: 'Ed and I are very well aligned. The company is always going to be about optimization and technical superiority'.
