NatCen Names Crime, Justice and Equalities Execs

In the UK, the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has appointed Joe Caluori as Director of Crime, Justice and Equalities, while Nathan Hudson takes on the role of Deputy Director of Equalities.

Joe CaluoriNatCen is Britain's largest independent social research organisation, studying all areas of social policy including health, crime, education, employment, travel, social attitudes and families. Caluori (pictured) joins from crime and justice specialist Crest Advisory, where he led the organisation's independent research programme, in the role of Head of Research and Policy. His criminal justice research experience includes a specialism in child criminal exploitation and serious youth violence. Earlier he served as Deputy Director of the Smith Institute and a delivery partner with the Department for Education's support programme tackling child exploitation. Caluori will take up his new position next month.

Hudson is currently Research Director at NatCen, specialising in mixed-methods research on inequalities, discrimination and social exclusion across a range of protected characteristics and experiences, with particular expertise in LGBT+ inequality. He joined the organisation in 2020 from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), and will take up his new role this month.

Joe has a unique blend of experience in policy development across a range of social and criminal justice areas, and Nathan is already doing great work to diversify our research in the equalities space.'
