Social Insights Agency BMG Acquired by RSK Group

UK-based social research and insight agency BMG Research has been acquired by environmental, engineering and technical services group RSK for an undisclosed sum. RSK says the deal will support its 175 companies with research and data evaluation services.

Founded in 1988, BMG delivers market and employee research, customer insights and public perception surveys to central government clients, government agencies and regulators, local authorities, utility companies and housing associations. Last year the firm opened an office in the London Bridge-based News UK Building, having closed its previous London base during the pandemic.

BMG currently has a team of nearly 100 researchers based in Birmingham, London, and Glasgow, and following the deal, the business will continue to be led by MD and co-founder Dawn Hands (pictured). The BMG team will join RSK, whose companies employ around 11,000 people.

RSK CEO and founder Alan Ryder says that the acquisition will support his firm's continued diversification into new service offerings and client bases. Hands adds: 'BMG Research is aligned with many of RSK's key sectors, but more importantly it shares the RSK culture of sustainable and ethical growth. We are hugely excited by the opportunities this new relationship brings, not only for the business but also for our staff and clients.'
