Databricks Funds for Behavioral Data Firm Snowplow

In the US, customer behavior data specialist Snowplow has received an undisclosed amount of funding from Databricks Ventures, the investment arm of data and AI company Databricks.

Alex DeanSnowplow generates, enhances and models granular behavioural data, ready for use in artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics applications. Users of the platform can model customer behavioural data across multiple points of engagement from web, mobile, point-of-sale, sales data and customer support, to create an 'accurate view' of overall behaviour and marketing attribution.

New funding will further extend the partnership between Snowplow and Databricks, and will be used to drive joint go-to-market initiatives. This includes both technical integrations and joint solutions to streamline the delivery of AI, fueled by Snowplow's first-party customer data. Later this month, Snowplow's Chief Product Officer Yali Sassoon will officially unveil the latest joint solution, which is called Next Best Action Personalization and allows Databricks customers to take advantage of several benefits in the Lakehouse Platform, including real-time personalization product recommendations, prediction of customer churn, and personalized customer experiences across multiple touchpoints.

Alex Dean (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Snowplow, comments: 'Since establishing our partnership with Databricks, our shared customers have been effective in elevating their first-party customer data to differentiate their AI and personalization strategies. This investment represents our shared commitment to support more organizations to develop composable customer data platform (CDP) use cases on the Lakehouse platform'.
