RAJAR Fits Two in Kennedy's Shoes

UK radio measurement body RAJAR has announced that two people will fill the role of long-time Research Director Paul Kennedy, when he steps down after 22 years of service: John Carroll as Director of Research and Audiences, and Charles Lawrie as Research Operations Director.

Paul Kennedy, John Carroll and Charles LawrieRAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd) is the country's independent Joint Industry Currency (JIC) service, jointly owned by the BBC and commercial radio trade body Radiocentre. The personnel changes will take place next month, when Carroll takes up his new position after serving as Global Business Development Director of Audience Measurement at GfK - before this he was the Director responsible for RAJAR at Ipsos. From October, Carroll will be responsible for the ongoing development of the survey as RAJAR evolves to meet the changing demands of the industry.

Lawrie, who has been promoted from his position of Survey Research Manager, is now tasked with overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the RAJAR survey. Meanwhile Kennedy will remain as part of the RAJAR team, in the role of Technical Advisor.

CEO Jerry Hill comments: 'It was a very sad day when Paul announced his decision to stand down. RAJAR and the wider radio industry owes him a debt of gratitude for his part in how UK radio measurement has evolved. I'm delighted that he will still be working with us in an advisory capacity. I'm equally delighted that we have the opportunity to reward Charles for his exceptional service and also to have attracted such an experienced and well-regarded senior research professional in John Carroll'.
