Search Intel Platform Captify Adds Two to Team

Search intelligence platform Captify has appointed John Piontkowski as President of North America, based in New York; and James Jones as Chief Marketing Officer, based in London.

John Piontkowski and James JonesThe company processes search data from more than two billion devices globally, for use in omnichannel programmatic advertising and the provision of real-time insights for clients. A majority of the business is now owned by US private equity firm SFW Capital. Earlier this month, the firm launched TV Search Lift, a proprietary study which evaluates the success and outcomes of CTV campaigns using on-site search data.

Bringing more than 30 years of experience in sales, sales management and executive leadership in the technology and digital media space, Piontkowski (pictured above) will lead North American business growth across top clients and prospects, from strategy to activation. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer at Edgecast, a subsidiary of Yahoo! Inc., where he was responsible for leading a team working on global sales, channel partnerships and solutions engineering. Prior to this he spent almost fourteen years at Microsoft, beginning in the enterprise software business and moving into the advertising organization where he was General Manager for the East Region sales and service organization.

As CMO, Jones (pictured below) will be focused on expanding Captify's position as 'the largest independent processor of search data' outside of the walled gardens. He has nearly twenty years of experience in B2B technology marketing across multiple sectors, including close to a decade in ad tech. He served in a number of marketing leadership roles at IMPACT+ and Xandr, helping to shape strategies and supporting expansion into international markets.

Jones will report directly to Mike Welch, CEO, while Piontkowski will report directly to Chief Revenue Officer Jack Bamberger. Welch comments: 'We've seen tremendous momentum for our programmatic offering this year, scaling the number of campaigns running with our consumer intent data across all forms of digital media. As we look forward to 2024, and say goodbye to third-party cookies, the expertise and experience James and John bring to Captify will be critical to driving continued growth of our cookieless, contextual solutions'.
