DIY Online Survey Tools Firm Formsite Acquired

Boston, US-based data management and workflow automation tools specialist Formstack has acquired Chicago-based DIY online surveys firm Formsite.

Randy VromanVenture-backed Formstack offers a suite of no-code tools for simplifying data management and building automated workflows, including drag-and-drop functionality, open API and integrations to streamline functions including data collection, document generation and electronic signature capture. It also boasts a native Salesforce form solution to streamline how users of the CRM giant's software capture and update records.

The company was launched in 2006, eight years after its new acquisition Formsite, which focuses specifically on allowing users to create their own Internet survey. The latter firm now has more than 10,000 customers and has grown organically without any external investors or stockholders.

The buy gives existing Formsite customers access to Formstack's differentiated capabilities and advanced workflow automation; and broadens Formstack's audience and range of solutions. Formsite's team will join the Formstack workforce and the teams will work together to further integrate the two offerings.

Formstack COO Rob Lawrence says the acquisition strengthens its position in the data collection market, and will enable Formsite users to tap into all Formstack's additional offerings. Randy Vroman (pictured), CEO and founder of Formsite, comments: 'We're incredibly excited about the value this acquisition will deliver to Formsite customers. Formstack has built an incredible suite of workflow automation tools that will allow our customers to put their data to work in new and interesting ways'.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
