Ipsos Creates Board Level Marketing Post

Ipsos UK has appointed a Marketing Director to its Board - a first for a UK agency, according to CEO Richard Silman. Jeff Deighton, former Icon UK MD, joins the company in the new role.

Deighton has over 22 years' market research experience. He began his career in 1982 at what was then AGB, and moved to international advertising pre-testing and tracking at GfK in 1991. Two years later he moved to Germany for a year to help launch the Icon Brand Navigation group, of which he was the UK MD for nearly ten years. Most recently he has been running Insight Engineers, a quantitative brand planning agency.

Silman says the appointment 'demonstrates our commitment to growing Ipsos UK and shows we understand the language of our clients. With this appointment, we will be managing our own brand in the same way that companies and organisations manage their own products, brands and services'.
