More Rapid Growth for Flat Panellists
Flat panel research specialist DisplaySearch has announced further rapid expansion with the appointment of four new Directors, two of them focusing on the rapidly expanding digital TV market.
Hisakazu Torii joins as Director of Japanese TV Market Research. Torii has eighteen years of display industry experience from Mitsubishi Electric, covering TVs, notebook PCs, monitors, mobile phones, digital still cameras, digital video recorders, automotive displays and industrial applications. He has a degree from the Department of Law at Waseda University in Tokyo.
Ken Tompkins takes the more general title of Director of TV Market Research and will be responsible for front and rear projection TV and CRT TV markets. He joins from Optoma Technology where he gained experience in the projection and TV markets. Tompkins is also an expert in database administration, data analysis and IT, and holds an MBA from University of Southern California and a Master's in Regional Studies focusing on East Asia from Harvard University.
Arie Braun becomes Director of US Sales and Marketing, with just under five years of experience in FPDs and CRTs. He worked previously at HP in procurement and business planning. Braun has an MBA from the University of Texas and in addition to sales and promotion will take charge of custom projects including the company's newest release Quarterly Global TV Shipment and Forecast Report.
Jin Kim joins as Director of TFT LCD Market Research, from LG.Philips LCD where he was Senior Marketing Manager. He has an MBA from Peter Drucker Graduate School of Management with a dual concentration in Marketing and Strategy, and previously worked as Product Manager for a line of 3D graphics accelerators at Jazz Multimedia before serving in the Republic of Korea Army.
