Specialist Recruiter for Operations Staff
A new UK recruitment and training agency is to focus on the operations side of MR. Gina Moore has set up and run field and ops functions for several agencies and worked most recently at Kantar's Operations Centre. manstonmoore's expertise will include operational, project management, front of house and admin staff, as well as programmers.
Moore started her 20-year career in MR operations at CRL Ltd as a trainee Field Controller, spent time at IRB, Research International, and set up the successful FieldWorks for Quadrangle Consulting in 1998. She was then 'tempted back' to RIUK by the challenge of establishing a horizontally integrated project management function, Central Operations Group. Subsequent plans to launch a recruitment consultancy were put on hold for other challenges, sitting on the management group establishing Kantar's Operations Centre, and planning her wedding.
The decision to delay no longer with the recruitment agency launch was apparently taken while on honeymoon, and Moore says The Operations Centre has been '100% supportive and understanding'. Husband Andrew Manston, who works in MR as a programmer, will provide web site and database setup and support for the new company.
The launch reflects a feeling that operations staff 'need more credit, attention and respect' says Moore. 'I remember when I was 24 and a Director said to me 'You're really clever- what are you doing in field?' It made me feel confused because I'd always been incredibly ambitious and had always wanted a huge career. It made me wonder what sort of industry had people in it that seemed to think operational staff couldn't be practical and creative. It also made me sad because it was honestly meant as a compliment!'
manstonmoore will be based at St. James's Square in London SW1. The company will begin trading, and its web site (www.manstonmoore.com ) will be operational, from Monday July 4th.
