Huston from Houston to Lead PPM Rollout

Audience researcher Arbitron Inc. has expanded its Portable People Meter (PPM) marketing team by promoting Jennifer Huston to the newly created position of Director, PPM Implementation. She was previously the leader of the team co-ordinating the launch of the Houston panel, which reached its 2100 person target at the end of June.

Reporting to Jay Guyther, Senior VP, Global PPM Marketing, Huston will lead cross-organizational efforts bringing in the PPM across the US, including development of the business, product strategy and marketing plans for a PPM ratings service. Explaining the appointment, Guyther reiterated the company's position that it is 'ready to move as fast as the radio industry needs us to': this form of words was used last month when the company responded to media owner Clear Channel Radio's 'frustration' with the speed of improvements ( www.mrweb.com/drno/news4183.htm ).

Huston began her 15-year career in media and marketing research at Arbitron, and worked as a Senior Analyst: she also represented the company to advertising agencies and radio stations and co-ordinated its internal audits of radio survey process. She left in the '90s to work at Discovery Networks, designing and implementing research programs to evaluate global audience performance and brand image, and returned to Arbitron in 2000. She holds an MBA from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.
