iSuppli Buys Emerging Technology Specialist

US-based electronics supply chain specialist iSuppli Corp has acquired the assets of Minova Technology, which provides market intelligence for emerging technology markets. Minova's founder and President Mark Kirstein - former General Manager at In-Stat - is joining iSuppli's executive team as VP of multimedia content.

Before founding Minova, Kirstein was VP and General Manager of MR firm In-Stat, where he managed business strategy, sales, research operations and business development in Asia. Previous roles include VP of Research, and Director and Principal Analyst for multimedia and convergence services.

In early 2000, Kirstein wrote a white paper, Entering the Broadband Era, which predicted the impact of broadband on the content, media and consumer-electronics industries. He has also written several articles for trade publications and frequently speaks at industry events.

In his new role, Kirstein will provide analysis of the markets for digital audio, video and games delivered to mobile and wired broadband devices, all of which play a key role in generating demand for components and hardware. He will continue to work at Minova's headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Kirstein says his previous experience has given him 'a strategic viewpoint, the ability to manage market-intelligence product creation and to successfully develop business'. He plans to combine his expertise with iSuppli's extensive library of research and analysis tools.
