TNS Extends Worldpanel Branding

TNS is renaming its various continuous consumer panels in Asia Pacific and the Middle East 'Worldpanel', in line with the panels used in 50 countries worldwide. The rebranding is designed to provide clearer and more co-ordinated services to international clients.

The Household Panel - available in China, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia - is now known as Worldpanel. Korea and Taiwan's Lady Panel is now called Worldpanel Beauty. Also in Taiwan, the Baby Panel becomes Worldpanel Baby, the Snacks and Beverage Panel is now Worldpanel Impulse, and the Drinks Usage Panel becomes Worldpanel Usage.

In addition to these panels, TNS has a marketing agreement with INTAGE in Japan for access to Japanese continuous panel data.

Marcy Kou, MD of Worldpanel in Asia, explains: 'The global renaming of our services enables clients to immediately recognise TNS panels worldwide. This is important at a time when clients outside of Asia are hungry to understand consumer purchasing behaviour within the region, the most obvious example being China.'

Tim Kidd, MD of Worldpanel, says client demand for internationally co-ordinated research has increased over the last few years, and that the renaming 'demonstrates our commitment to providing clients with a truly international continuous consumer panel offering'.

Worldpanel makes use of a range of data collection methods, including bar code scanners, online surveys, till receipt scanning, paper diaries and interviewing.
