Telmar and Demographix Collaborate on Media Surveys

London-based online survey provider Demographix Ltd has joined forces with Telmar, a supplier of media information services and software, to offer Telmar-Demographix - an online survey tool for media companies.

The new system is designed to offer an easy way for non-technical people to create, publish and analyse online surveys using just a web browser. Clients will be able to analyse data collected by the Demographix surveys, in combination with other data. Telmar's existing clients can access the system from their familiar eTelmar environment.

Alex Maddox, Telmar's MD, said: 'Our clients generally know what their target audience is watching, reading, and listening to. And now, with Telmar-Demographix, they can also find out what their audience is thinking. It's a very powerful new research opportunity for the whole media sector.'

Demographix CEO Derek Cohen says of the collaboration: 'We've worked hard to create the leading online survey system. Now that our service is available in conjunction with Telmar, we'll be able to allow media companies to enrich their research and give their media planning added depth.'

Consumer magazine publisher IPC is the first client for the new service. IPC's Group Ad Marketing Director, Christina Hartley, says the tool will allow IPC to 'run more frequent online surveys and have greater control over them'.

Telmar provides computer based advertising media information services for more than 4,000 users in 30 countries, including ad agencies, publishers, broadcasters and advertisers. It is online at www.telmar.co.uk

The Demographix survey system has been used by publishing, professional and research organisations in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. To date, it has collected data from over 2.5m respondents. The company's web site is at www.demographix.com
