Nielsen BuzzMetrics Launches, Names Team

Online consumer-generated media tracker BuzzMetrics, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Intelliseek, and appointed around a dozen key executives. The integration of the two firms is backed by BuzzMetrics owner VNU, and results in the launch of Nielsen BuzzMetrics.

The firm's technology and research analyze publicly archived online sources, including blogs and Internet discussion forums, to create actionable consumer insights for businesses and brands.' The new company has four locations (New York, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Israel), more than 100 major client brands and more than 100 employees. It combines Intelliseek's advanced technologies with BuzzMetrics' linguistic technologies. VNU is a majority shareholder with 50.1 percent ownership.

Itzhak Fisher, chairman of BuzzMetrics, Inc. says his firm is 'excited... to begin the next phase in building this burgeoning industry.'

Fisher, CEO Jonathan Carson and President and COO Mike Nazzaro are joined by a large number of new appointees:
  • Pete Blackshaw, Chief Marketing Officer
  • Ori Levy, President of Israel Operations
  • Richard Nelson, Executive VP, Corporate Strategy and General Counsel
  • Jay Stockwell, Senior VP, Sales
  • Jerry Needel, Senior VP, Client Services
  • Karthik Iyer, Senior VP, Business Development.
  • Sundar Kadayam, Chief Technology Officer.
Kadayam's technology team will include Braxton Robbason, Chief Product Officer, Jonathan Schler, VP of Research and Development, Matthew Hurst, Head of Science and Innovation and Chris Connaughton, VP of Technology Services.
