Bill Pegram and Laurence Curtis to Retire

Two of Synovate's senior executives have announced their retirement. Bill Pegram and Laurence Curtis, both well known figures in the industry, will be leaving in the next few months.

Pegram, who retires at the end of this week (31st March) co-founded Pegram Walters Associates, which was acquired by Synovate in 2001. Following the acquisition, he became Corporate Business Development Director for Western Europe, a pivotal role given Synovate's acquisitive approach.

Curtis was CEO of Maritz / TRBI, prior to Synovate's acquisition of TRBI in 2004. He then moved from the UK operation to Western Europe to take up the role of Operations Director.

Both have active members of the profession and served on many committees since the late 1970's, and both were made Fellows of the Market Research Society in 1998. Pegram lectured for 12 years at the UK Market Research Society's Winter School and was a regular speaker at ESOMAR and at MRS Conferences in the UK, Europe and North America. In addition, he was a Council Member of both the Association of Market Survey Organisations (AMSO) and, subsequently, the BMRA. Curtis served on MRS committees in the 1970's and chaired the organisation's Summer School in the 1990's. More recently, he chaired the MRS programme committee and Conference itself. He will retire at the end of June.

Tim Bowles, CEO of Synovate Western Europe, comments, 'Both Bill and Laurence have made a unique contribution to Synovate. Both have been loyal and committed partners in the Western European team and I would like to thank them for their contribution to the success of the company.'
