New Director for DisplaySearch

Flat panel display specialist DisplaySearch, part of the NPD Group, has hired Paul Gagnon as Director of North American TV Market Research, bringing its TV analyst team to a total of twelve.

Gagnon has 10 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, on both the retail and manufacturing sides, most recently as Sr. Marketing Analyst for Hitachi America LTD's Home Electronics Division, forecasting and analyzing volatile TV and video market trends. At DisplaySearch, he will track, trend and forecast the rapidly evolving television market, providing in-depth data and analysis for all television technologies.

DisplaySearch President and Founder, Ross Young, says Gagnon's 'intimate knowledge of sell-in and sell-through trends and pricing and promotional behavior' will be of particular use to the firm's growing TV customer base.

Gagnon joins a team of 12 analysts in Asia and North America dedicated to the TV market, from a total core team of 34 employees, showing the increasing importance of the digital TV side of its business. The analysts, located in China, Japan, Korea, North America and Taiwan, cover the entire TV supply chain.
