Jupiter Launches Mobile Media Report

Technology specialist JupiterResearch has announced the launch of its new Mobile Media & Marketing Research service and released initial results, forecasting a total advertiser spend on mobile messaging and display advertising of $2.9bn in 2011, up from $1.4bn in 2006.

The report, 'US Mobile Marketing Forecast, 2006 to 2011', says twenty-two per cent of online advertisers are currently engaged in mobile marketing as part of their marketing mix, with a bias towards youth-oriented brands. Jupiter says early adopter industries include media, wireless carriers, automotive, financial services, CPG, and food services.

'Educating consumers, protecting their privacy, and mitigating their concerns about the cost of commercial text messages and SPAM, will be key to driving consumer interest and adoption of mobile marketing executed with SMS,' according to Julie Ask, Research Director and Senior Analyst.

David Schatsky, President of parent company JupiterKagan, Inc., says the firm's new Mobile Media & Marketing research service is designed to provide media and advertising companies with research and strategies to effectively reach the more than 220 million mobile subscribers in the United States.

JupiterResearch is headquartered in NYC and has offices throughout the US and Europe. It is on the Web at www.jupiterresearch.com .
