Experian Buys in Belgium

Experian has acquired Belgian micromarketing and consumer analytics firm Adhoc Solutions. Adhoc will provide a Belgian base for the information giant's Business Strategies division and bring added consumer profiling, segmentation and retail analysis expertise to Experian's Mosaic system and other offers.

Adhoc was founded in 1990 and offers consultancy and online services for consumer analysis, retail planning, geo-demographic profiling and segmentation. Clients include major players among banks, insurance companies, telcos, retailers and the public sector. Experian says the buy will also enable Business Strategies 'to work more closely with a range of Brussels-based organisations, including the European Commission'.

Charles Burton, Business Strategies' Global MD, comments: We will strengthen Adhoc's existing consumer and retail analytics offer with access to our core profiling and consumer products such as Mosaic and Micromarketer Generation 3. The acquisition will give us a firm platform to develop our business in Belgium whilst providing a unique cross-border offering to all our European clients.' Adhoc's MD Stéphane Roumieux says the two firms have a similar business model in terms of their range of activities, and hopes 'to provide Belgian companies with a wider and more comprehensive portfolio of services.'
