Post-Acquisition Overhaul for ORC

New owner infoUSA has announced its intention to split Opinion Research Corporation (ORC) into two distinct groups: government research under the name Macro International and corporate MR with the existing name. John F. Short steps down from the Chairman and CEO roles as two new leaders are named.

ORC took over advisory firm Macro International in 1999, and the brand has remained well-known in the US. The new company bearing the name will be headed by Greg Mahnke, who has worked for the division since 1999, latterly as its President. Macro International is based near Washington DC.

The corporate group, Opinion Research USA, UK and Asia Pacific, will be headed by Gerard Miodus who has worked in a variety of roles in the company's data collection area since 1984. Previously MD of the US operation, Miodus will continue to be based at ORC's Princeton offices.

Both Mahnke and Miodus will report directly to infoUSA's Chairman and CEO, Vin Gupta. Short will continue to act as a consultant until the changes are fully implemented.

infoUSA compiles databases which capture detailed information on businesses and consumer households in the United States and Canada, and has also developed proprietary software for direct marketing applications. Its home page is at www.infoUSA.com . ORC's current web site can be found at www.opinionresearch.com while ORC Macro is online at www.orcmacro.com .
