Comms Researcher Boosts Team in France and US

Satellite and wireless research and consulting firm NSR has made two senior appointments. Yannick Lafue joins in France as Analyst, Satellite Communications and Dr. John Stevenson in the US as Senior Advisor.

NSR Founder and President Christopher Baugh says the arrivals will give the company 'an unprecedented depth of coverage in the satellite market and an ever growing presence in the emerging wireless space.'

Based in Strasbourg, Lafue will serve as a regional and applications expert on satellite communications, directing multi-client research reports and assisting with consulting projects in the satellite market, as a key member of the team in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). He worked previously at Luxspace on contracts with a specific focus on earth observation and telecommunication applications; and at the European Science Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg and Marsh SA in Paris. He holds a Master of Space Applications Technology from the University of Strasbourg, France and a Master of Space Studies (MSS) from the International Space University.

Stevenson, who will serve as a technical and strategy expert, has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry ranging from data communication and networking to Web-based content management and applications, plus business case analysis and forecasting. Previously he was Chief Technology Officer at Orblynx, responsible for introducing satellite-based Internet Distribution System (IDS) technologies into a commercial service platform; and worked at INTELSAT, pioneering international connectivity services to ISPs via conventional geostationary satellite transmission. He also spent time at Astrolink International and Castify Networks S.A. He has a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London.
