Another Chinese Deal for Yankee

US-based technology consultant Yankee Group has announced an exclusive alliance with nonprofit organization the China Mobile Communications Association (CMCA). The deal includes provision of research information to CMCA's broad member base in China, giving Yankee an increased footprint in the booming economy.

CMCA is an independent legal entity led directly by the Ministry of Information Industry (MII). Its members include China's six major carriers - China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, China Netcom, China Railcom, China Satcom - plus major vendors such as ZTE, Huawei, Putian and Datang.

Yankee's research, data and insight will appear in contributed analyst columns in CMCA's flagship publication Mobile, giving commentary on market dynamics in the mobile communications industry.
The two will also work together to promote and run conferences and forum events.

Yankee says the alliance broadens its exposure in the Chinese market. 'CMCA will help accelerate Yankee Group's market development in China by providing direct access to the Chinese telecom market' comments XJ Wang, Vice President of Yankee Group Asia-Pacific Research. 'Chinese carriers and vendors will have easier access to Yankee Group's research that explores the impact global and ubiquitous connectivity has on enterprises, consumers and the network.'

Meanwhile, the IT group's global brand recognition will give its new partner the opportunity to expand its membership base outside of China, according to CMCA Secretary General Ni Jianzhong.

Yankee is headquartered in Boston with operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, and is online at www.yankeegroup.com . CMCA is at www.cmca.org.cn .
