AdRelevance Expands in Asia Pacific

Internet audience measurement and analysis firm, Nielsen/NetRatings, will expand its online advertising measurement service AdRelevance in Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand in the third quarter of 2007.

The firm says the move will provide users with information about online advertising in the Asia Pacific region, as well as giving them the ability to compare their data with that already gathered in the US, Australia, China, Japan and in Europe. Advertisers will be able to see where, what and when their competitors are advertising online, and adapt their own campaigns in response.

Forrest Didier, the company's MD for Asia Pacific and Latin America, commented: 'The launch of AdRelevance in Singapore and Hong Kong has been much anticipated by online industry players as it supports the full online ad planning, management and evaluation process. AdRelevance delivers ad occurrence, impressions and the ad creative, along with expenditure estimates that enable clients to better understand online campaign performance. In addition, AdRelevance distributes real-time email alerts that provide clients with tactical information on competitive and market activity.'

AdRelevance is an online advertising tracking system based on 'spider technology' (also known as 'robots' or 'crawlers', which follow hyperlinks from site to site). These 'spiders' behave as if they are full-time Internet users and continuously visit sites and search for click counters, which indicate that an advertisement is present on the site. The ensuing data is combined with independently audited page impression data from Nielsen//NetRatings' SiteCensus service, to calculate ad impressions after which, market spend factors are applied.

Nielsen//NetRatings is 62% owned by The Nielsen Company and is online at www.netratings.com .
