Veteran TV Researcher Joins Nielsen DigitalPlus

Nielsen has hired media researcher Jeff Boehme for the new role of Senior VP, Business Development for Nielsen DigitalPlus. Boehme starts the New York-based role at the beginning of April.

The firm was launched in February to mine TV viewing data from digital set top boxes (DSTB) (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6435.htm ). Boehme has been brought in to develop strategic business opportunities and will report to Senior Vice President, Jed Meyer.

Meyer comments: 'Jeff brings a wealth of experience in audience measurement and marketing for both cable and broadcast television. He will be an important asset in our efforts to integrate DSTB data with Nielsen's entire spectrum of measurement services and information assets, and in our ongoing efforts to bring leading edge electronic measurement to all local television markets.'

Boehme has a media research background spanning more than two decades. Since 1992 he has worked at National Cable Communications, most recently as SVP of Research and Marketing responsible for all research initiatives. Prior to this, he held a number of senior media research positions including Director of Audience Management at NBC TV, Director Sales Presentations & Promotions at ABC/Cap Cities, and Director of Research at Seltel.

He is a well-known figure in the industry, having served as a member of the Media Ratings Council (MRC), Radio & TV Research Council (RTRC), Committee On Local Cable Audience Measurement (COLCAM) and Advertising Research Foundation (ARF).

Nielsen currently employs around 42,000 staff in more than 100 countries and is online at www.nielsen.com .
