US Intelligence Firm Buys into Europe and Asia
New York-based competitor intelligence (CI) firm, Sedulo Group, has acquired two CI and MR firms – Sharp & Associates in Shanghai and Perspicacite de Strategie in Paris. The move will more than triple the size of Sedulo's consulting offer.
MD John Story said that Sedulo has worked closely with both firms in the past, and explained: 'We were looking to formalise our presence in both Europe and Asia and because we knew and respected the capabilities of these two firms it seemed like the natural choice.'
Sharp & Associates, which has a presence throughout China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea specialising in the technology and manufacturing sectors, will serve as the Sedulo Group, Asia Business Unit. It continues to be headed by the firm's founder, Daniel Sharp, who takes on the role of Director Asia Business Unit, managing more than a dozen consultants with backgrounds that vary from engineering and marketing to research and analytics.
Perspicacite de Strategie was co-founded by Jacques Matteau and has offices throughout Europe and a staff of nearly thirty consultants. As a result of the acquisition, Matteau becomes Director Foresight Strategy & European Business Unit.
Sedulo was formed by a group of CI professionals in 2003, initially to apply the primary intelligence research methods used in CI to research focused on customer, industry and market intelligence.
