More Territory for Texans

Fort Worth-based customer analytics specialist Buxton is following a doubling of its headcount in 2006 by moving to new offices which have room to double it again, with a further 100+ new research and technical staff.

The company hired 51 additional employees in 2006 and says it 'expects to continue' with the rapid rise in headcount. Most of its c.100 current employees are in technical positions, and Buxton says the new hires will hold positions in market research and statistical analysis, information technology and sales.

'We are long overdue for an expansion', says Tom Buxton, who spent 20 years at Tandy/RadioShack before starting the firm in 1994. 'We built our current office building in 2001, and in just six years, we have outgrown it.' The new building, an open plan office in north Fort Worth off Meacham Blvd due for completion next year, will cover 25,000 square feet, adding to 20,000 on the original site. A further 3.5 acres is due for purchase next to the company's original headquarters, providing additional expansion space.

Buxton's in-depth customer analytic data helps retailers, city authorities and developers make decisions about where to locate buildings and businesses. Buxton also advises retailers on what products to sell and has expanded in recent years into services for healthcare organizations and CPG manufacturers. The firm's analytics provide an estimated value for every customer for every product at any distance from a particular site, using individual- and household-level databases.
