Former Gartner Senior VP Joins Springboard

Bob Hayward has joined IT MR firm Springboard Research as Research VP in Asia, responsible for research strategy, company positioning, and executive thought leadership.

Hayward joins with 28 years experience, having most recently co-founded Internet startup Asia Online which provides content and portal services using statistical machine translation software. Prior to this he worked for Gartner as Senior VP and Research Fellow, Asia-Pacific and Japan. He joined the firm in 1995 and was responsible for the company's growth strategy and business development in the region. During this time he was also an advisor to many large Asia/Pacific enterprises and global IT firms conducting business in the region, as well as a number of regional governments on IT industry development policy issues. Hayward previously set up and IT company in Australia called Qualix, and established the Asia/Pacific operations of software company Candle Corporation.

Commenting on his new role with Springboard, Hayward said: 'It is refreshing to see a research analyst company that has embedded innovation into its corporate DNA.'

Dane Anderson, CEO & EVP of Research for Springboard responded by saying that attracting someone of Hayward's caliber and experience to the team is a testament of how far the firm has come in the past three years.

Hayward is a frequent speaker at conferences across the Asia-Pacific region, and is a regular guest on regional TV and radio technology shows. He was educated in the UK and has a Bachelor of Computer Science from Newcastle University.
