Japanese Office for comScore

Online measurement specialist comScore has opened its first customer service office in the Asia Pacific region - comScore Japan KK - and has appointed industry veteran Mr. Maru Sato as its MD.

Tokyo-based Sato was most recently Managing Director of Expedia Holdings KK, and previously MD of Abacus Japan KK, Jupiter Media Metrix KK, and AOL Japan KK.

The Japanese unit will offer comScore's syndicated online audience measurement product, called comScore Media Metrix, and a suite of other online behavioural analysis products including measurement of ad effectiveness.

Bob Ivins, Executive VP of comScore with responsibility for international activities, comments: 'Japan is the second largest advertising market in the world, and the region is home to some of the world's largest and fastest growing online populations. A strong local presence will support our global leadership in these critically important markets.'

President and CEO Magid Abraham adds: 'We have been tracking and reporting the activities of the Japanese online consumer since 2001 and are delighted to have established a local office to support our growing business. Mr. Sato's experience, track record and passion for this space made him the ideal person to spearhead comScore's growth in this region.'
