Vizu Adds Maps to Poll Results

US-based Vizu Corporation - which provides free web polls and DIY market research - has added vote maps to its poll results to enable users to pinpoint where votes are being cast.

The vote maps are powered by Google and the colour coded responses can be viewed from general location, or at postcode level. Vizu CEO and Co-Founder Dan Beltramo explained: 'Our users are curious by nature so adding maps to our polls was a natural fit for Vizu'.

The introduction of the maps concludes a series of redesigns that have resulted in site registration rising by 69%. The poll widget allows users to create customised web polls and then add them to web sites, blogs, or social networking pages. Compatible with blog platforms such as Blogger, TypePad and WordPress, the polls work on sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Friendster.

Recent development work has also included user interface improvements and integration of Gigya's Wildfire, which allows one click posting of polls to social networks and blogs.

San Francisco-based Vizu was founded in 2005 to offer Vizu Answers which combines MR technology with a wide network of web sites, enabling responses to be returned within hours of creating a poll. The firm also provides demographic characterisation and enterprise polling functionality, and is on the web at www.vizu.com.
