AMR Hires Leaders for New Retail Initiatives

Boston-based AMR Research has appointed Andy Sanfilippo as Research Director and Dawn O'Brien as Program Director, to boost its Retail Strategies Service team.

Sanfilippo will focus on processes and technologies in merchandising, including merchandise and assortment planning, allocation, lifecycle pricing, and cross-channel merchandising. He has more than a decade of industry experience, having most recently worked in product management, strategy and analysis roles at Oracle Retail, and previously as an application architect at Williams-Sonoma. He worked earlier for wine.com, Manhattan Associates and Qiva. He graduated cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering.

As a program director, O'Brien will lead the company's retail peer forum network, including the new Retail IT Leaders Peer Forum. She also has more than ten years' relevant experience, having worked as the Senior Director of Retail Merchandising Systems for the National Retail Federation and as Director of Merchandising Systems with Duty Free Americas. Earlier she worked at Crown Books and the Target Corporation. She graduated cum laude from Boston University's College of Communication.

Rob Garf, the firm's VP and General Manager of Retail Strategies, says both the Retail IT Leaders Forum and the broadening of consumer-centric merchandising coverage are reactions to market demand, and adds: 'I am pleased that we found two industry veterans to lead these areas and help our clients align business strategy with technology initiatives.'

AMR Research is focused on manufacturing, supply chain, enterprise applications, and infrastructure, and is online at www.amrresearch.com.
