MRS Joins B2B Best Practice Alliance

In the UK, the Market Research Society (MRS) has joined with six other associations to create the B2B Best Practice Alliance and raise the profile and standard of B2B marketing communications.

MRS Deputy Director General Debrah Harding explained that the alliance will create a portal containing best practice and codes of conduct documentation generated by participating members. She added: 'This is an example of different areas of the communications sector working together, and the benefits to the MRS will be communicating our best practice policies to a wider community.'

The alliance has been formed by the Direct Marketing Association and will cover 14 distinct areas of B2B marketing including market research, advertising, direct marketing, telemarketing, data protection and email.

Other members include:
  • the Direct Marketing Association (DMA)
  • the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB)
  • the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA)
  • the Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM)
  • the Association of Business-to-Business Agencies (ABBA)
  • the Institute of Sales Promotion (ISP).
Rosemary Smith, Chair of the DMA, commented: 'The wealth of expertise and knowledge that such an alliance can bring to the table will create a truly comprehensive set of best practice guidelines in the B2B arena.'

It is hoped that more associations will join the alliance once it becomes established.

The MRS is online at www.mrs.org.uk.
