GMI Leaves Mercer Island, Consolidates Operations

Software and panels firm GMI (Global Market Insite) has moved its headquarters to larger premises and brought its three Seattle operations under one roof.

The company has signed a five-year lease on more than 45,000 square feet of office space in Bellevue, Washington to bring together staff from its two offices previously sited on Mercer Island and a third in Seattle.

'We have experienced tremendous growth since our inception,' explained Mike Brochu who was named CEO in June (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6934.htm ). 'Starting with a condo in our early days, we have expanded utilising multiple locations throughout the greater Seattle area. As we continue to manage this growth it has become readily apparent that being under one roof will reap tremendous benefits for our local employee base.'

The new Bellevue space includes a large data centre which the firm says will provide cost savings for hosting internal systems. VP Global HR Judy Loucks said she expects to see gains in terms of communication and productivity once the 125 local staff are settled into the new space.

GMI employs 300 employees worldwide located in 30 different cities. The firm's sales climbed to $54 million worldwide in 2006. Web site is: www.gmi-mr.com.
