Clear Seas Charts New Waters

Clear Seas Research, the MR company within family owned US b-to-b group BNP Media, is expanding into the food, beverage and packaging sectors, as well as the gaming market. The move follows BMP's acquisition of part of publisher and conference organiser Ascend Media.

Mitchell Henderson, co-CEO of BNP Media, says Clear Seas will use its combination of 'online communities, industry knowledge and superior analysis' to offer an 'unparalleled' custom research service in the new verticals.

BNP will buy Ascend's Professional Services Division, including its Food, Beverage and Packaging Group, based in Deerfield, Illinois. The new addition will give BNP a rounded offering in these sectors, adding to its existing strengths in manufacturing, architecture & construction, mechanical systems and safety & security markets.

Cam Bishop, Ascend's President and CEO, says the division has impressed the group with its evolution and growth into a diversified B2B media business, adding: 'As part of BNP Media, it will have an even more compelling strategic fit that will allow the team and their brands to build on this year's impressive growth rate.' BNP Media's co-CEO Taggart Henderson concurs: 'All of the titles have been well managed by an excellent staff that has integrated print advertising, events and online media. We now have robust products for any customer looking to reach each and every corner of the food, beverage, packaging and gaming markets.'

BNP was incorporated in 1926 and is headquartered in Troy, Michigan, with offices around the US and an online base at www.bnpmedia.com.
