Omnicom Buys Stake in China Healthcare Agency
Marketing services group Omnicom has acquired majority ownership of Consultech, a healthcare market research, marcoms and strategic planning consultancy based in China.
The deal has been struck through Omnicom's Diversified Agency Services division (DAS) and DAS President and CEO David Stark commented: 'Consultech's solid healthcare credentials and know-how are currently helping other Omnicom networks in China deliver their own specialised marketing services to healthcare clients. The formalisation of our relationship can only help speed our total growth.'
Consultech, established in 1997, has offices in Beijing and Shanghai where it employs 50 staff with local market knowledge. MD Jiang Song said of the acquisition: 'Our decision to join Omnicom opens a new era of development for us.'
