Synovate Launches Indian Oncology Monitor

Synovate Healthcare has launched The Synovate Healthcare India Oncology Monitor, which it says is the first of its kind in the country.

Following last year's launch in China, Korea and Australia, the monitor will now track drug prescribing behaviour in major oncology treatment centres across India and cover an estimated 80% of the country's oncology drug market. Future plans for the monitor will focus on Asia Pacific's emerging pharmaceutical markets.

Kelly Price, appointed to lead the Asia Pacific Oncology Monitors in January (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6312.htm ), comments: 'The launch of the monitor in India will fill what has been an information vacuum. Now, clients can benefit from a methodology that collects Indian oncology data in a globally consistent manner whilst recognising the uniqueness of this market.'

Adds Monica Gangwani, Head of Synovate Healthcare India: 'The launch of the oncology monitor in India will help players in the oncology market to leverage the synergies between ad hoc research and oncology monitor data.'

The monitor covers 11 countries globally and is subscribed to by 50 companies worldwide. Jackie Ilacqua, Synovate Healthcare's Global Head of Oncology, says expansion into other countries will follow.

Synovate Healthcare is the specialist market research arm of Synovate, employing around 500 healthcare market research professionals across Europe, US and Asia Pacific. Web site: www.synovate.com/healthcare.
