SKOPOS Extends Services, Reports Turnover Up 72%

European agency SKOPOS Market Insight has seen its turnover increase by 72% in the first half of 2007. The company says an extended high-end analysis offer, including the launch of 'Ultra-Analysis' and a new Kwal department, has contributed.

Incoming orders rose by 56% in the first half compared with the same period in 2006. MD Darren Noyce says growth has been driven by the implementation of high-end analysis, plus development of Centres of Excellence based on sectors, applications, and new methods.

The firm has recently opened a new science, sampling, statistics and synthesis (SK4) department, to provide methodological advice, analysis and what it describes as 'sensitively distilled insight' to clients. The division is headed by stats and sampling expert Dr Olaf Wenzel, who joined the firm in 2004 to work on complex research designs and conduct advanced analyses (www.mrweb.com/drno/news3525.htm ).

Wenzel will be supported by Dr Marcin Pont and Ioannis Kranitis. Pont joined the firm earlier this year from Harris Interactive, has two degrees in Marketing and Psychology and is currently awaiting approval of his doctorate and thesis covering market research and its links with business performance. Kranitis has two degrees in Marketing Communication and Business Management and his expertise includes multivariate 'ultra' analysis using SPSS and other tools and software.

The company has also opened its new Kwal department, combining online and offline qualitative approaches with online and offline ethnography. The division uses Accompanied Surf Interviews (ASIs), i-groups, i-forums and multi-media open-ended online questionnaires; and is developing methodologies including SKOPOS VisioScope, which promises online ethnography and hybrid qual/quant online surveys.

In quarter two, the firm upgraded its Insight i-Suite 2.0 suite of online techniques and applications, which blend SKOPOS' online experience with client feedback and respondent contribution, according to Head of Innovation Susanne Miles.

SKOPOS has offices in London, Cologne, Berlin and Paris, and a home page at www.skopos.info.
