Kinetic Hires Media Research Veteran

Out-of-home media agency Kinetic has hired Nick Mawditt for its newly created position of Director of Insight and Marketing, with a remit to deliver research across the firm's network of 42 offices.

Nick MawdittMawditt will take up the position in early November when he leaves his current post as European Head of Research at CNBC, where he has worked since 2002. He joins with a 20-year background in the media research business, having previously led ORC International's consumer, trade and retail division, and held senior research positions at Initiative Media, Taylor Nelson Sofres, Carlton, Television South West, ITV and Reuters. He is a law graduate from Keele University.

Based in the Paddington, London office, Mawditt will spearhead the firm's research planning arm, Kinetic People, driving research into consumer lifestyles as well as analysing which out-of-home environments are most effective at creating a response from consumers.

Kinetic's Global Chief Client Officer Mike Segrue explained his belief that 'first class' planning is the main asset that the firm delivers to its clients: 'Our planners really need to be business partners to our clients and Nick will play the major role in helping achieve this.'

Mawditt told DRNO that he intends to bring to the role an understanding of how consumers spend their lives from a research science perspective.

The firm - which is half owned by its management and half by marketing services group WPP - offers data analysis and planning tools to create campaigns which increase the value clients get from out of home media. Employing more than 900 professionals globally, and with billings of $4.4 billion, its home page is at www.kineticww.com.
