GMI Hires Microsoft Veteran for Global Tech Role

Software and panels firm GMI (Global Market Insight) has appointed John Purrier as VP Global Technology. He brings more than 25 years of software development experience to the role.

During Purrier's 13 years with Microsoft, he worked initially as Director of Development for the firm's Exchange Server, and then later became Senor Software Architect, during which time he founded and launched the MSN Mobile service. Purrier has also served as a Board member at Nuity Systems and been Department Manager and Technical Lead at IBM. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Said GMI CEO Mike Brochu: 'John's experience, first at Microsoft, and then at several startup software companies makes him the perfect candidate to take our industry-leading research software to the next level.'

In July, GMI named Joseph Baldini as its new Vice President of IT (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7093.htm ). Founded in 1999 with world headquarters in Seattle and operations in Europe, North America and Asia, the firm is online at www.gmi-mr.com.
