Good Growth for infoUSA

Opinion Research Corporation's parent firm infoUSA has released results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2007 ending on December 31. Record Q4 revenue of $185.8m includes $67.0m for the Marketing Research Group established in December 2006.

Founder, Chairman and CEO Vin Gupta commented: '2007 was a record year for infoUSA. We experienced growth in our core businesses, realized the impact of our successful integration of Opinion Research(R), and completed several additional acquisitions in the market research industry and additional acquisitions in database marketing as well. We continue to focus on our strategy of becoming a one-stop, fully integrated provider of sales and marketing productivity tools to businesses and the public sector.'

Excluding the MR Group the Company's revenue was up 8% to $118.8m for Q4 and 11% for the year to $467.3m. The Marketing Research Group added another $221.5m for the full year.

Revenue for the full year included $9.9m received from the final settlement of a lawsuit, which was originally commenced in December 2001, against Naviant, Inc. (now known as BERJ, LLP) for breach of a database license agreement.

Full year operating income increased to $88.3m, which includes $9.2m from the Naviant settlement, net of related expenses, from $64.6m in 2006. Full year EPS was $0.76, up from $0.61 in 2006.

Revenue for the Marketing Research Group for the fiscal year 2007 was $221.5m. The Group now includes Opinion Research and Macro International, and 2007 buys Guideline, NWC Research and Northwest Research Group.

Revenue for the Data Group in the fourth quarter was up 6% to $81.6m, and for the fiscal year up 10% to $330.5m, which includes $9.9m for the Naviant settlement (growth was 7% if the settlement is excluded). Revenue for the Services Group in the fourth quarter was up 10% to $37.2m, and for the fiscal year up 13% to $136.8m.

The firm's statement says that although the business 'performed very well in the fourth Quarter of 2007 and, we believe, will continue to do so in 2008', broad economic uncertainty has led to a decision not to provide guidance in 2008.
