Clarification

In an article published on 4 January we reported that Israeli MR company MarketWatch and its partner agency Gemius had been commissioned to conduct Internet rating surveys on behalf of a consortium including the Association of Advertisers in Israel; and that the work had previously been conducted by TNS's research company in Israel, TNS Teleseker using its bi-annual TIM (Teleseker Internet Monitor) survey (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7760.htm ).

The article did not say that TNS Teleseker was no longer running its Internet monitoring service in Israel, but could have been interpreted in that way and we apologise for any confusion. TNS has asked us to point out that the TIM service will continue to serve the Israeli Internet industry despite the above mentioned tender. TNS has also asked us to mention that TIM, its Internet usage monitoring and site ranking service operating in Israel since 2000, is as of May 2007 based on a monthly study offering a variety of site performance measurements and analytical tools for strategic and media planning on the Internet.

We also stated that TIM had asked respondents via telephone interviews about their past visits to web sites - in fact the survey methodology changed from telephone to online about six months before the tender in question, and TIM continues as an online panel.

TNS Teleseker was established in 1983, and has been part of TNS since September 2000. The group is on the web at www.tns-global.com.
