Comperio Promotes to Fill Top UK Job

In the UK, Comperio, the research arm of US sports marketing and media group IMG, has promoted Iain Barnett to the position of MD. Barnett will oversee the firm's global network of offices, and have direct responsibility for all business operations and strategy development.

He takes up the role having spent the past ten months in Melbourne setting up the company's new Australian office.

Barnett joined the agency in 1997 and swiftly rose through the ranks to the position of Research Director. In his new role, he will report to Andrew Wildblood, SVP IMG/IMG Media, who commented: 'Iain's commitment to the company over the past eleven years has enabled him to play a central role in making Comperio the successful brand that it is today. With exciting times ahead of us, I have every confidence that his wide ranging expertise, combined with his fine leadership skills, will ensure the firm continues to prosper.'

Comperio specialises in the sport, sponsorship, event, tourism and media sectors. As a division of IMG, the firm has access to an international network of 60 offices in 30 countries.

Last year, Comperio opened an office in Hong Kong in response to the growing requirement for its services in the Far East and in preparation for the Beijing Olympics.
