Schlesinger Acquires Usability Testing Lab

US data collection firm Schlesinger Associates has acquired Interactive Video Production (IVP), the owner of MobiLAB usability testing lab services.

New Jersey-headquartered IVP tests interactive software and hardware systems to assess usability and user-friendliness. Its usability labs allow clients to observe and evaluate research participants as they 'test drive' products at various stages of the development cycle. Real-time visual and verbal feedback on the usability of products is captured and the system also produces summary highlight videos to illustrate key findings. The firm has also added Eye Tracking Labs to its portfolio of research technology services.

Commenting on the acquisition, Bob Granito, who will be continuing as IVP President, explained: 'By partnering with Schlesinger Associates, we will have more resources at our disposal to broaden our research technology services and markets, bringing significant benefits for our clients and partners.'

Steve Schlesinger, CEO of Schlesinger Associates added that the purchase will not only help IVP extend its services to the entire research industry, but advance his firm's vision of providing seamless research technology to international markets.

Schlesinger Associates was founded in 1966 and now has offices across the US, as well as in the UK. The company recently expanded its New York focus group facility, opened a new facility in Houston, Texas, and partnered with Canadian data collection firm Itracks.
